Extraordinary Asian Women

How to Receive as a Chinese (Asian) Girl

Claudia Chan Episode 14

On the one hand, we keep hearing things like, there isn't enough Asian Women representation in the leadership roles (with only 2.7% leaders being Asian Women).

While on the other hand, we have Asian parents continuously pushing us to do more and better since a very young age.

How are these two things linked to each other?

It all comes down to creating Asian women who have a very difficult time receiving.
Receiving recongnition of our efforts, being able to showcase our talents, and having the mindset to take on leadership challenges in life.

I came to Canada from Hong Kong when I was 11. Being a Chinese-Canadian girl I had a lot of trouble with receiving.

In this episode, I'm going to explore how the two things listed above are closely related to each other.

How the constant not-enoughness is creating a lot of self-doubt, which becomes very difficult for Asian women to go after leadership positions.
How the constant self-judgement is creating a lot of competition, and inability to celebrate and uplift each other.

And what we can do to love ourselves, so we are more willing and more courageous to go after more challening things in our lives.

I'd love for you to have a listen to it, and let me know whether you agree or disagree with it!
